Troubleshooting and Repairs

Dead outlets, warm switches, breakers that will not hold. We find the actual fault and fix the cause.

What it is

A breaker that keeps tripping is information. It is telling you there is an overload, a short, a ground fault, or a failing breaker, and each of those has a different fix. We have seen the backstabbed outlets, the DIY junctions in the attic, and the melted wire nuts behind the one warm switch plate. We diagnose to the fault, explain it in plain English, and fix the cause instead of the symptom.

When you need it

  • A breaker trips repeatedly or will not reset
  • Outlets are dead in one area but the breaker looks fine
  • Lights flicker when the AC kicks on
  • A switch or outlet is warm, buzzing, or smells hot

How we run it

01

Isolate

We split the circuit and test until the fault has an address, not a guess.

02

Explain

You see what we found and what it means before we fix anything.

03

Repair

Fix the cause, verify under load, and check the rest of the circuit for the same problem.

Questions

The trip itself is the breaker doing its job. What is dangerous is why it keeps happening. Taping it, upsizing it, or holding it closed turns a warning into a fire risk. We find the cause.

Often a failed connection upstream, a tripped GFCI feeding the run, or a backstabbed outlet that let go. That hunt is exactly what we are fast at.
